Grade nine students from the Academy at King Edward read author 
Gordon  Korman's Dive! trilogy as part of their language arts studies. 
In addition  to several reading and writing activities, the students 
used a basic  computer paint application to recreate their favourite 
scene from the novel  which was then sent to grade 10 Hypermedia 
students at Jasper Place High  School. The high school students 
dissected the drawings and animated them  using Macromedia's Flash 
application. A blog was used as a tool of  communication and collab-
oration for the two groups of students until they  had a chance to 
meet face to face on January 18th, 2005 when the animations  were 
unveiled to both groups.
